2019 “Tender Love and Care” Conference

With the support of our school administration, we are hosting the third annual conference for high school women of color in the Bay Area. We started the Riot Conference hoping to bridge the disconnect of women of color at private independent schools in the Bay Area through a day of embrace and encouragement.

Our theme for this year’s conference is “Tender Love and Care.” Through this theme, we want to explore self-love, self-care, and the de-stigmatization of mental health. The goal of our conference is to provide a space for young women of color to find their power and reclaim their time through reflecting on the care they take for themselves. Our more immediate goal is to help break down barriers for female students of color that inhibit them from reaching their full potential. We're hoping that this conference will cultivate more female leaders of color, especially in high powered positions.
